The Technology Backbone Behind zCartify

Where Enterprise Reliability Meets Everyday Usability

zCartify is a complete eCommerce ecosystem for Indian businesses — single vendor stores, multi-vendor marketplaces, jewellery platforms, supermarkets with cloud POS, and more. It ships with the things Indian sellers actually need: GST invoicing, Razorpay payments, Shiprocket shipping and pincode-based delivery charges.

This page is the business-level overview. If you are a CTO or technical evaluator, the System Architecture page goes deeper into how it is built.

Unified Web + Mobile Ecosystem

The web platform and mobile app operate in perfect sync. Products, prices, inventory, orders, and customers all use the same backend — ensuring your business stays aligned everywhere. Add an app at any time without rebuilding your data or workflows.

Powerful Product Engine with Variants

zCartify supports multiple product types — from simple inventory items to rich variant-based products. Vendors or admins can create variants such as size, colour, style, pattern or weight groups. The variant system extends to industries like apparel, footwear, accessories, supermarkets or custom manufacturing.

Product discovery is enhanced through categories, subcategories, optional style fields, brand mapping, meta tags, search keywords, filters and sorting, and high-quality image management.

Multi-Vendor Marketplace Engine

For marketplaces, one cart can hold products from several vendors, and zCartify handles the complexity behind it:

  1. One cart, one checkout: the customer pays once, however many vendors are involved.
  2. Automatic order splitting: the master order is divided into sub-orders for each vendor.
  3. Independent fulfilment: each vendor ships and tracks their own items, with commissions calculated for the admin.

Enterprise-Level Role-Based Access

zCartify uses a clear and secure role hierarchy:

  • Admin: Full platform control.
  • Store Manager: Assists admin with product approvals, order management and vendor support.
  • Vendor: Manages own products, orders, inventory and reports.
  • Branch Cashier (POS): In-store billing and counter operations.
  • Customer: Browses, orders, tracks shipments and manages returns.

Each role sees only what they are permitted to manage — ensuring security, clarity, and smooth operations.

Shipping & Logistics: Shiprocket or Pincode Rates

Shipping is flexible by design. Each vendor chooses how they want to ship:

  • Shiprocket (optional): vendors who opt in get courier shipping handled inside the order workflow, with tracking and AWB details visible to the customer, including return pickups.
  • Pincode-wise rates (default fallback): if a vendor does not choose Shiprocket, regular delivery charges per pincode apply automatically.
  • Free shipping threshold: set a per-vendor order value above which shipping is free (for example, free shipping above ₹999).
  • Clear visibility: shipping charges are shown in the cart and at checkout.

You get courier-grade logistics when you want it, and a simple, predictable rate card when you don't. Shiprocket credentials are stored with envelope encryption.

Returns & Refunds, Handled End to End

Returns touch stock, payments, logistics and tax, so zCartify handles them as one connected workflow. Customers raise a request from their order history, choose the items and upload photos if something arrived damaged. Vendors or admins then approve or reject each item individually, and the return moves through Pickup, Received and Refunded. The refund goes back to the original payment method through Razorpay, stock is restored automatically (with an admin override for damaged or perishable goods), and GST is reversed for partial and full returns, with figures that feed your GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B reporting. A printable credit note is generated as soon as the return is closed. See the full process in our Return & Refund Management Guide.

GST-Ready Invoicing

Invoices are generated automatically for every order, whether it is paid online or cash on delivery, with consistent rounding so your invoices, orders and payment totals always match. Returns reverse the GST automatically and produce a credit note.

Secure Payments with Razorpay

Checkout is powered by Razorpay. Orders are created on the server, never in the browser or app, and payment gateway credentials are protected with envelope encryption, so secret keys are never exposed to customers.

Smart Notification & Alert System

Transactional emails go out through Zoho, with Firebase push alerts for real-time events and WhatsApp for direct customer contact:

  • Welcome emails during user registration
  • Password reset notifications
  • Vendor registration updates for admin and vendor
  • Order placed / shipped / delivered alerts
  • Return and refund status notifications
  • Admin alerts for contact form enquiries
  • Real-time Firebase notifications for new orders (ideal for POS counters)
  • WhatsApp chat button for instant customer conversations

Advanced Coupon & Discount Engine

Run powerful marketing campaigns with a built-in coupon system:

  • Flat and percentage discounts
  • Max discount caps
  • Date-based validity
  • Usage limits per customer
  • Exclusive promotional coupon codes

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to use Shiprocket?

No. Shiprocket is optional and chosen per vendor. If a vendor does not opt in, zCartify falls back to regular pincode-wise shipping rates.

Does zCartify generate GST invoices?

Yes. GST invoices are generated automatically for both prepaid and cash-on-delivery orders.

How do returns and refunds work?

Customers request a return from their order history, and admins or vendors approve each item. The refund goes back through Razorpay, stock is restored, GST is reversed and a credit note is generated. Read the full return guide.

Are there recurring platform fees?

No. zCartify is a one-time perpetual license with no recurring platform fees. Hosting is arranged separately (we can host it for you, or you can use your own server), and annual support plans are optional.

Which payment gateway is supported?

zCartify integrates with Razorpay. Credentials are stored with envelope encryption, and orders are created server-side.
